it basically acts as a hair stripper, stripping the colours off layer by layer and also drying it out in the meantime.

also, you then need to colour over it as it leaves your hair orangey and patchy.

to be honest though, in the past 3 weeks i've stripped mine and had 3 more lots of bleached highlights to get from black to light blonde and the condition is perfect. this is because i'm a hairdresser and kkep it in reall y good shape so if you dont get regular trims chances are you'll need a really good one after using a colour remover,

depends on what you get. If you get something with a bleaching agent, then yes. My suggestion is get a color correction (Sally's has it for like $15). It strips the color out, restoring it back to your natural color without bleaching or harming your hair.
